“In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” ( Proverbs 16:9)

Tetsuo Tatsumi, 94, born on December 12, 1930, passed away peacefully  at home on January 13, 2025. He resided in Indio, CA. He was born to loving parents in Gunma Ken, Japan. He was the oldest son in a family of five. He is survived by his wife, Cindy, of 43 years, and their dog, "Lucky"; three children, Juliet, Burt and Emily; three grandchildren, Lillian, Leia and Beckett; Tetsuo's two brothers, Moto and Toshiaki and numerous nieces and nephews of Japan. Dr. Tatsumi practiced neurosurgery in Canton, Ohio at Aultman Hospital for 30 years. Dr. Tatsumi was the recipient of the 2005 Humanitarian Award by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), April 20, 2005, at the Annual Conference in New Orleans. Tetsuo led an exceptional life. To quote a dear friend who recently learned of his death, "Tetsuo was a talented physician, but more important than that he was a wonderful human being". He enjoyed helping and teaching others, was a life-long learner and enjoyed the great outdoors playing tennis and skiing. He considered himself fortunate to be able to accomplish what he wanted to do. He explained, "None of this could have been done without the unconditional support and love of my parents, siblings, family, and friends.” He was grateful from the bottom of his heart. He enjoyed every step he took. Tetsuo was loved by many and he will be dearly missed.
