Terry Garcia Zamorez, 75, of Indio, CA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 27, 2016. Terry was born on August 30, 1940 in Colusa, CA to Atanacio and Clara Garcia but grew up in Thermal where she met the love of her life and best friend Joe Zamorez. They married in June 1965 and were married for 50 years. Terry worked at John Kelly School as a School Nurse Aide for 5 years then found her calling as the controller of a local radio station KEZN where she worked for 21 years until her retirement in 1998. After retirement she kept busy by traveling, going to the casino, being a loyal supporter of the CVHS Alumni and spending time with her family. Terry was a fabulous cook and she used her cooking talents to help fundraise for various local charitable organizations. Her tamales and hot chile were the talk of the town. Terry was also a long time faithful parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi
Terry is survived by her husband Joe Zamorez, her two daughters Cindy and Katherine Zamorez and her sister Lupe Zavala.
Terry touched the lives of so many people and she will be greatly missed. She was a constant source of inspiration and strength to many. She was kind, loving, smart and most of all generous. We would like to thank Dr. David Alderman of Desert Nephrology for his great care of Terry as well as the staff at Frenisus Medical Center especially, Wendy, Adan, Linda, Jamie and Sheree. You all made her smile and treated her with such tender care.

"There is sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love."
