Terry Mason

Terry Ray Mason died on April 23, 2025, at his home in Cerritos, California. He was the beloved husband of Gertrude Jane Nava and father to Karen Nava, Brianne Elizabeth Hensley, and Amber Crawley-Robinson. Terry was a kind and hardworking man who touched the lives of many people.

Terry was born on January 5, 1954, in Greencastle, Indiana, to Paul M. and A. Elizabeth Mason. Terry grew up in Greencastle with his three siblings: A. Wayne Mason, Barbara J. Burkett, and Larry K. Mason. After graduating from Greencastle High School in 1972, he attended Indiana State University and Purdue University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree of Life Sciences/Biochemistry in 1983.

After college, Terry worked as a mail carrier for the General Telephone & Electronics Corporation (GTE) until he retired from the company. He then moved to Southern California, where he worked as a lead cook for the Disneyland Resort until his retirement in 2024.

Terry loved going on family trips to national parks, especially Yosemite National Park and the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. He found peace in the serenity of nature and enjoyed observing animals in the wild. He enjoyed listening to his favorite bands, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, and Pink Floyd, as well as watching science fiction or documentaries.

Terry Mason is survived by his wife, Gertrude Jane Nava; his daughter, Karen Nava; his brother Larry K. Mason, his sister-in-law, Bonnie (Burgess) Mason; his grandchildren, Alexis Rose and Joshua Parker Hensley; and his nieces and nephews, Bruce and Stephanie Mason, Ricky Hansen, Carolyn Miller, Donald Hansen, and Kaitlynne, Annalysse, and Janelle Mason.

A celebration of life in Greencastle, Indiana will be held at a later date. (TBA)
