Teresa Ting Obituary

Teresa Ling-Chun Ho Ting, 何玲春, passed away on January 20, 2025, at the age of 85 in her residence in Rancho Cucamonga, California. 

She was born February 23, 1939 in the small village of Shigang, T’ai Chung, Taiwan. She grew up and spent her childhood there, raised by her mother Tsway-Yu (郭翠玉) and father Ing-Fa (何灜發). She was the eldest sister, having two younger sisters - Lillian (何玲瑤) and Jenny (何玲淳). She also has an older brother, Chen-Kung (何鎭坤 ). 

As a teen she attended a vocational school of commerce at which her mother taught. She attended Providence University and graduated with a bachelor's in economics. Following this, she went on to work as a bank teller in Taipei when she was introduced to her husband, Edward (丁一 天). He was living in America and would write letters to her until their marriage in 1968. She followed her husband to the United States to begin a life together, gaining her United States citizenship in 1971.

She had an adventurous and ambitious spirit and tried many things upon her arrival. Among them was her venture as a business owner, running a sandwich shop in Hollywood. She also worked for a telephone company for over 25 years. 

Teresa had a great love of travel and had the opportunity to visit many places across the world. She was passionate about music, even from a young age, participating in a number of choirs and dance groups during high school, college, and as an adult. Teresa also generously donated money to local charities, particularly with a focus on the arts.

One of her greatest wishes was to have a family. Teresa loved being a mother and has loved being a grandmother, even more!

Teresa is preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Hou. She is survived by her husband- Edward, her son- Steven (& Kristin), and her three grandchildren. Also, her brother Dr. Chen-Kung Ho and her sister Jenny Ling-Tsuen Ho.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that a donation be made to the Claremont Young Musician’s Orchestra in her memory. She loved music and this was an orchestra her son was a part of. (More information can be found at www. cymo.org)

Teresa Ting玲春於 1939 年 2 月 23 日出生台灣, 台中縣, 一個名叫 石岡區的小鎮。 Teresa (玲春)的父親(何灜發) 和母親(郭翠玉) 育有四名子女, 分別是長子Chen-Kung(何鎭坤), Teresa (玲春), Lillian (何玲瑤) 和Jenny (何玲淳)。 Teresa (玲春) 在這個小鎮成長, 度過她的童年時光。

十幾歲的時候，她就讀於母親任教的一所女子學校。 高中畢業後，她就讀於普羅維登斯宜大學，經濟學學士畢業。

大學畢業後，她任職於台北的一家銀行，工作期間經人介紹認識了她的丈夫, Edward (丁一 天)

。 他當時住在美國，兩人雨雁往返多年，直到 1968 年他們結為連理。 她跟隨丈夫來到美國，開始了他們的共同生活，Teresa (玲春)於 1971 年取得了美國公民身份。

Teresa玲春一生充滿雄心壯志和冒險精神，一到美國就嘗試了許多新事物。 其中她擁有自己的事業，在好萊塢(Hollywood )經營過一家三明治店。 她也曾經在一家電信公司工作了大約二十五年 。

她非常熱愛旅行，有機會就會去很多地方旅行。 Teresa 玲春從小就對音樂充滿熱情，在高中、大學和成年期間參加過許多合唱團和舞蹈團體。 她也是一位充滿愛心的女士。 她曾數次慷慨地為許多當地慈善機構捐款，特別是關注藝術的慈善機構。

她結婚後最大的願望之一就是成為母親。 但某種緣故，這個願望對她來說似乎是不可能的，直到 1979 年左右， 因為妹妹 Lillian何玲瑤割愛，收養了妹妹的兒子Steven。 一了成為母親的願望，如今更加歡喜成為一位祖母！

Teresa (玲春)繼她的妹妹, Lillian 何玲瑤之後逝世. 她身後留下了她的丈夫Edward 丁一 天 和兒子Steven ( & Kristin), 和她的三名孫女. 還有她的哥哥何鎭坤和妹妹 Jenny 何玲淳 .
