Teddy Gerita Hinkel

Teddy Gerita Hinkel, 84, born on July 27, 1935, in Mangum, OK, passed away peacefully August 2, 2019 at her assisted living home in Costa Mesa, CA. Teddy, who typically went by her middle name Gerita, was the youngest daughter of Claude Earl and Mary Jane McDaniel. She worked as an Import Specialist for US Customs for over 35 years and was so tough on enforcement of regulations of foreign imports that she earned the moniker "Dragon Lady". Growing up, her father, whom she rarely saw, was the private chef for the King of Arabia. She reunited later in life with him in California and took care of him until his passing. She is survived by her two sons, Tracy K.(Kathy) of Sumner, IA; Forrest J.(Teresa) of Coconut Grove, FL., six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her parents and sister Jamie Lou Ingertson.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 14th from noon until 2:30. Service to follow.
