Talatalaga Napeli

July 14, 1966 — August 7, 2014

Talatalaga Napeli, 48, born on July 14, 1966 in Samoa, passed away August 7, 2014. She resided in Long Beach, California, at the time of her passing. Talatalaga leaves behind her siblings, nephews and nieces, aunts & uncles, cousins and the love of her life, daughter Tasha Dean.

Talaga was born in Samoa to wonderful parents, Napeli Taituave Fauatea & Talaifuaomeleke Faimata Aliimalemanu. From their union, they were blessed with 6 children: Uila (m - deceased)), Talatalaga (f), Palupe Napeli (m), Fauatea Suliasi (m), Taaitulagi Leasanesane (f) and Pesefeamanaia Setu (m). We'd like to note that Talaga was blessed to have older siblings from her father's previous marriage including Leike (f - deceased), Apisai (m - deceased), Taituave Ioapo (m), Tuioti Faamasino (m), Taupule (f) and Toreka (f).

Talaga was a strong independent woman who had a strong sense of self-worth. She relied on that strength and in God to sustain her in this life longer than was originally predicted by medical professionals. She had a determination to fulfill the goals she set for herself especially her duty as a mother to Tasha. Her mission in life was to make her little one happy. Our sister was also very resilient, quiet, and thoughtful and had a great sense of humor.
She will be greatly missed by her family and a host of loved ones and friends. We express our gratitude and sincerest thanks for prayers and visitations in behalf of our beloved Talaga.

There will be a family service held in Cypress on Sunday, August 17th at 4 pm at Cypress Forest Lawn in Church of our Fathers chapel. This service will be broadcasted on a special webcast.

The funeral service will be held the next day, Monday August 18th at 9 am at the same location. Short viewing available from 8:15 am to 8:50 am before services begin.

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!

Mary Frye
