Takeo Kohagura, 70, of Glendora, California passed away on March 6, 2021.

Takeo Kohagura was born to parents, Manuel Raymundo and Kiyoko Kohagura, on May 7, 1950 in Kadena, Okinawa. Takeo received his degree in Business Administration. He served in the US Army for 10 years and was honorably discharged. After serving in the military, he worked for State Compensation Insurance Fund. He medically retired after 20 years of service with SCIF.

Takeo was known for his generosity, story telling, sense of humor, immaculate style, love of sports, and obsession with cars. He loved and cared for his relationships. You could find him on any given weekend attending a SCIF get together making people laugh, serving as tour guide for visiting friends and family, or chauffeuring his daughter to her extracurriculars. During the later part of his life, Takeo became grandpa to several grand nephews, grand nieces, and his grandchildren Teddy and Maddie. All his grandchildren experienced the best of him. "Papa" was the full expression of his love with a major dose of genuine amazement for at each milestone and accomplishment.

Takeo married Sun Hui in 1979, who survives him. He is also survived by his daughter Jennifer, her husband Anthony, and grandchildren Theodore and Madeleine. He is survived by his mother Kiyoko, brothers Rori and Tom, sisters Conchita and Elen, and many well loved nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. He was predeceased by his father Manuel Raymundo.

The memorial service will be held on his birthday, May 7, 2021 at 9:00am at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, with burial to follow. In lieu of sending flowers, donations can be made in his name to the American Heart Association or Disabled American Veterans Charity.
