Sylvia Maude Wilson

December 26, 1934 — February 25, 2015

Sylvia Maude "Kim" Persad-Wilson was born on December 26th, 1934 in Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies, the 6th child to Clarence and Stella Lutchmipersad of Union Hall, Cross-Crossing, San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies. As a young girl, Sylvia attended the Naparima Girls' High School and the St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School in San Fernando Trinidad, followed by tertiary schooling at the John Donaldson Technical & Vocational Institute, where she studied stenography, typing and book keeping. Alongside her academic education and training, Sylvia, who excelled in music and singing, also pursued studies in music and taught music at Hutchinson's Music Academy in San Fernando, Trinidad. In 1973, following the death of her brother, Rawle, Sylvia visited Los Angeles, California, USA to be with her sisters Vida and Marigold and her brother, Rudolph. It was during this visit that Howard Wilson crossed paths with Sylvia. Sylvia's kind and caring personality along with her attributes of integrity and innate charm attracted Howard to her and the two fell in love and were married in March 1975. Throughout the years that Sylvia and Howard spent together, Sylvia was a committed and loving wife, and took care of her dear husband until his passing on April 07, 2003. In the years that followed Howard's death, Sylvia continued to cherish the legacy of her husband, taking care of their apartment complex at South Sherbourne Drive in Beverly Hills and fulfilling his wishes that she should live each day to the fullest and enjoy the blessings of life. Sylvia enjoyed traveling – among some of her cherished travels were her trip to India in 2004, Toronto, ON in 2006 and her regular visits to the island of Maui, where she loved to vacation with friends and family. She already had begun to make plans to visit Maui again in May of this year, however on February 25, 2015 at 7:39 AM, plans had to be cancelled as she was summoned to take the greatest trip of a lifetime – a one-way priority classed trip - to meet her beloved Howard and all her loved ones who reside in Heaven. Sylvia leaves to mourn, her sister Vida, her nephews David and Colin (Suzette), niece Amanda, and many dear friends to whom she has endeared herself to over the years that she spent in Beverly Hills, LA, California. Sylvia will be missed greatly and will be loved in our hearts forever. May she rejoice, sing and dance in the living presence of Jesus, who lives and reigns forevermore in Heaven and on Earth.
