Sybil Brooks Duncan

Sybil Brooks Duncan, 71, born on May 1, 1942, in Valley City, North Dakota, passed away July 25, 2013. She moved to her beloved Los Angeles as a young woman and met and married the love of her life, Gary Duncan, only to lose him tragically in a car accident a few short years later. She pursued careers in modeling, advertising, and most recently was a valued employee at a Los Angeles based private equity firm. She loved to travel, and as an adult fulfilled her high school French-class-inspired dream of visiting France. She was an accomplished artist with a passion for teaching, and inspired and delighted students as a volunteer, teaching painting at a local LAUSD school. She set an example of courage and grace during her long battle with cancer and will be sadly missed by her many friends and family. She is survived by two sisters, three brothers, many nieces and nephews; and her "red-haired boy," McNeill, her much-loved cat. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Glendale, California.
