Swanna Newman Pinchin

It is with great sadness that the family of Swanna Orilla Newman Pinchin announces her passing. Surrounded by family and loved ones, Swanna made her way to heaven just as the sun set on Friday, December 15, 2017, at the age of 88 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her three surviving children, Janet(Jim), Russell (Kristi) and Paul. Her legacy will live on through her 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, 2 brothers, countless nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Swanna was predeceased by her husband Harold Pinchin, her children's father Herbert L. Newman, her son Herbert L. Newman Jr., grandson Leon Miles Jr., and many brothers and sisters. She is now in their loving arms watching over our family from her honored place in heaven.
Swanna was born on December 14, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During her teen years, her family moved to Hawaiian Gardens, Ca. where she met and married her first husband, Herbert L. Newman. Together they raised a family and started a successful business, Newman Backhoe Service, Inc., which continues to thrive under the management of their children. In the late 70's Swanna settled in Newport Beach, CA to enjoy the life she had created. She was an avid world traveller, her favorite destination of which was Portugal. In the late 80's she met and married Hal Pinchin, who shared her love of family and travel. Swanna accomplished many incredible feats in her life time which will continue to inspire and amaze those who knew and loved her. She was a strong, independent and loving matriarch who will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday December 27th between 5pm – 9pm. The Funeral Service in memory of Swanna will be held on Thursday, December 28th, 2017 at 11:30am, at Forest Lawn Cypress Cemetery located 4471 Lincoln Ave. Cypress, CA. A reception celebrating Swanna's life will immediately follow the service at Old Ranch Country Club 3901 Lampson Ave., Seal Beach, CA.
