Susana Amor Toliver

Susana Amor Toliver, 91, born on November 24, 1927, in Santa Cruz, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. Susana was the second oldest of 11 children. She graduated from college and was a teacher before she married her husband, Charles Sr. (deceased 2007), in the Philippines. They moved to the US in the 1950's where dad joined the US Army. As a military family we moved around. They were first stationed in Honolulu. This was followed by a long cross country move to Virginia. A year later another cross country move in the opposite direction, this time to Monterey, CA. Then on to Moscow, ID and Boise, ID. Towards the end of my father's military career we were stationed near Tacoma, WA where the family finally called home and lived for years. Susana worked at the daycare in Ft. Lewis as well as being a housewife. When they bought a house her mission was to keep it spotless. In the mid-70's the family moved to Baguio City, Philippines for their children to complete their educations before returning stateside.
Susana lived with Charles and Beverly, taking care of their 3 daughters. Needless to say, this was a tremendous help which Charles and Beverly owe much gratitude to Susana. When we moved to Cypress from Cerritos 20 years ago we bought a house with a bedroom downstairs knowing this would eventually be a necessity for our dear mother. What a wonderful 2 decades worth of momentos that she kept in her room.
Susana is survived by sons Charles and Elmer, daughters-in-law Beverly, Genevieve, and Ycelle, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She resided in Cypress, California at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
