Susan A. (Borgeson) Kunkel
March 8, 1953 – September 23, 2012

Former Disney Music Executive Susan Kunkel has died at 59. A Chicago native with a passion for music, art, animals and gardens, Susan grew up in the south side of Chicago and went onto attend the Art institute of Chicago where she further developed her knowledge and appreciation of the arts. After a move to Los Angeles she began her music career at Davlen studios where she gained her first glimpse at the music business. She later worked in music publishing for Bill Traut and Barry Manilow until her move to the Walt Disney Company in 1984. She spent 20 years in music publishing at Disney where she last held the position of Senior Vice President, Music Publishing.
Susan was formerly a Board Member of ASCAP, a Docent at Huntington Gardens and a friend to songwriters around the world.
Susan is survived by her brother Kenneth Sowinski of Chicago and was preceded in death by her parents John and Daisy.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the East Valley Animal Shelter or Friendly House.
