Susan Ferguson

October 16, 1952 — January 15, 2026

Susan Ferguson, 73, was born on October 16, 1952, in Compton, California. She went home to be with Jesus on January 15, 2026, at her residence in Long Beach, following a courageous year-long battle with leukemia.

In her final moments, Susan was surrounded by love and comfort, held close by her devoted husband of 52 years, Dennis. Her family, including sons and daughters-in-law Shawn & Kristen Ferguson and Chad & Wendy Ferguson, along with her cherished grandchildren---Preston (24), Angelina (21), Isabel (19), Jillian (19) and Lucas (16)---were all present, as were many close friends whose lives she deeply touched.

She is survived by brother, Steve Mabee; sisters Ellen Breymann (Det), Dianna Hall; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Jean Mabee, her sister Pamela, and other beloved family members, who now welcome her into Paradise.

Susan built a meaningful career in business administration, dedicating 20 years to Monsanto before continuing her professional journey at Wallboard Tool Company, Blue Sky Marketing, and ultimately retiring from United Healthcare. In retirement, Susan found joy participating in Women's Bible Studies at Refuge Calvary Chapel in Huntington Beach and volunteering at Horizon Pregnancy Center where she formed lasting friendships and touched many lives with her kindness and compassion.

Susan had a passion for travel, with Israel holding a special place in her heart, as well as participating in a mission trip to Nairobi, Kenya. Her hobbies included boating, gardening, painting, cooking, and sewing. She took pride in designing a vacation home in Meadview, Arizona, completing the finishing touches in 2023.

Her love for family was evident in the way she organized holiday celebrations, planned vacation trips, and arranged local entertainment for her loved ones. Susan's warmth and thoughtful planning created lasting memories for all who knew her.

Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday February 14, 2026 at Refuge Calvary Chapel Huntington Beach, 7800 Edinger Ave., Huntington Beach, California. Memorial reception will immediately follow services.

Favorite bible verse is John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life."
