Sukju Bae was born on 3/19/1933 to father Inkyu Bae and mother Boklyul Yi in the city of Daegu. He was fourth of seven children. He met Joung Ja while serving in the military and together, they gave birth to three children, Minah, Jin, and Kaci. In 1972, he immigrated to the US and his family joined him in 1974. Living in southern California, the family grew up in Eagle Rock while they owned and operated two Korean restaurants in the heart of Koreatown in Los Angeles. He became a Christian in the early 90's and his passion for Jesus led him to acquire a Bachelor of Arts degree in theology in 2001. Fiercely proud, his wife and his three children were his boast to the end. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's later in life and on June 11, 6:40pm, at the age of 89, his loving God called him home to a place of eternal rest.
