Sue Moore

January 31, 1942 — May 1, 2015

Sue Moore, most recently of Woodland Hills, California passed away on May 1, 2015. Born on January 31, 1942 in Everett, Massachusetts, she was the eldest daughter of James Loyola McCarville and Anne Agnes (Judge) McCarville.

Sue grew up in West Newbury, Massachusetts and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Immaculate Conception High School in Newburyport where she was presented with the Auxilium Latinum Award as a Latin scholar for three consecutive years. She attended Merrimack College in Andover, Massachusetts.

Sue relocated to Los Angeles in 1974 and embarked on a long and rewarding career in the motion picture industry as a costumer. Her projects included well-known films such as Jurassic Park and Lost World, Rain Man, Stand By Me, Bram Stoker's Dracula and many more. She was nominated for a Juneau Award in 1994 by Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, for Best Costumes.

During her retirement, Sue filled her days with travel, gardening and art. She spent time living in New York, Lake Tahoe and Colorado. Her love of animals was legendary. It was not unusual for her to have several rescue animals at one time and still open her heart and her door to another in need. Her passion for them spilled onto her favorite charities like PETA and ASPCA. First and foremost, however, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and mother-in-law to her family. She was generous in spirit, offering understanding, support and unconditional love to her friends and family at all times. Sue was treasured by all she encountered and made those around her feel special.

She will be most missed by her children: her son, Dr. Mark D. Porter and his wife Tristen L. Faith, of Beulah, Colorado; her daughter Kelly E. Porter and her husband Mitchell R. Kenney of Studio City, California and her daughter Kathleen A. Porter and her husband Edmund L. Rogers of Cave Springs, Arkansas; her sisters, Marianne Marino of Derry, New Hampshire, Catherine Jerome of Naugatuck, Connecticut and Margaret Woodson of Basalt, Colorado; her eight grandchildren: James, Casey, Seanan and Nolan Kenney; Annie and Claire Porter; Erin and Emma Rogers; also many nieces and nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, Thomas James McCarville.

A Memorial Service will take place at Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills, California. Additional information can be obtained at http://tributes.com/obituary/arrangements/Sue-Moore-102434754
