Stormy Goddard Stremsterfer passed away peacefully at the age of 67 on September 28, 2014. Stormy was born February 6, 1947 in North Los Angeles County after graduating from Villa Cabrini High School. She began a 30 year career working at St. Joseph Medical Center in the admitting department where she became very helpful to and popular with many doctors and nurses because of her congenial ways and efficient job skills. Her later work history in Georgia involved working as a medical biller for several physicians and a chiroproactor and her effectiveness in getting bills paid by insurance companies easily endeared her to her employers who saw a significant surge in their incomes.
Stormy's aunt Margeurite was a brilliant lady who made a career in the Navy and living in the Washington DC area and at the Pentagon led her to many promotions culminating in the position as LT. Commander. Margeurite, Stormy did extensive traveling and a cruise and saw Paris, Rome, London.
Stormy was preceeded in death by her aunts Jane Malarkey, Margeurite Anderson, her grandmother Marcella Smith, father Stuart Stremsterfer and mother Rosemary. She has a surviving sister April Blum and two nieces.
Stormy was married to Tom, a social worker for many years. Even though they divorced Tom was a caretaker for her during the four years of her cancer treatments.
Stormys kindness and generosity are appreciated by children and pets. Stormy financially adopted and supported an orphan girl in Ethiopia named Tarafesh who is educated and guided by one of Stormys high school classmates named Sister Theresa who became a nun. Sister Theresa has visited Stormy and other classmates several times for a rowdy lunch and reunion.
Mass and visitation will be at St. Jude Catholic Church in Westlake Village on W. Lindero Cyn Rd and Stormy will be buried next to her grandmother who helped raise her and also who Stormy took care of when she was ill with cancer. This will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park near Burbank.
