Steve Stanard passed away unexpectedly at age 57 on March 11, 2023 with his devoted wife, Patricia, and his stepdaughter, Elena at his side. Steve was born on April 9, 1965 in Los Angeles, CA. Steve and Patricia moved to Pico Rivera and then to Montrose for a few short years, only to move back to his childhood home in Highland Park where they resided until his passing.
Steve loved his job while working at Orchard Supply Hardware, especially their Neighbors Helping Neighbors program, where he helped the community with special projects. His most favorite was when OSH and a few of his fellow co-workers refurbished the So. Pasadena Little League Nelson Field. Other projects he enjoyed working on were helping the So. Pasadena Community Garden get set up for its first planting; a local school planting their Butterfly garden. He also enjoyed representing OSH in the South Pasadena’s 4th of July Parade for several years.
Steve was an avid golfer and could be found most Sundays on the golf course. His favorite course was Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena, CA. Steve had many sports teams that he enjoyed. He was an avid Dodgers, Lakers, and Dallas Cowboys fan. He also loved Nascar. His favorite legendary Nascar drivers were Dale Earnhardt Sr, and Dale Earnhardt Jr, but he also had Alex Bowman, and William Byron his favorite drivers as well.
Steve loved giving to the community; he would often throughout the year, purchase toys for young children and deliver them to his local Fire Department, Station No. 12. He was never one to bring any attention to himself, but he loved knowing that there were children getting some joy from his donations.
Steve is survived by his wife, Patricia Stanard, stepdaughter Elena Jacobson, his mother, Marsha Stanard, his brothers Robert A. Stanard, John Stanard, his nephew, Robbie Stanard, his aunt and uncle John and Linda Sullivan, his cousins John and Lynn Sullivan and Brian Sullivan. He is predeceased by his grandmother Evelyn Miraldi, brother Ron Stanard and his nephew John Stanard Jr.
Steve didn't want any funeral services, so his ashes were buried in a private family burial at Forest Lawn.
