It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Cohen, who passed away on June 23, 2026, at the age of 43.
Steven was born on February 16, 1983, and grew up in La Crescenta, California, where he was raised by his loving parents, Steve and Veronica Cohen, alongside his sisters, Desiree and Kiana. He graduated from Crescenta Valley High School and continued his education at Glendale College. In 2011, Steven proudly purchased his first home in the Santa Clarita Valley, where he would build the life and family he always dreamed of.
Steven dedicated more than 20 years of service to the city of Los Angeles. He currently worked for the Department of Water and Power, where he worked his way up to Supervisor. He took great pride in his career and was respected by his colleagues for his dedication, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others.
On October 30, 2012, Steven met the love of his life, Beth. From that day forward, they built a beautiful life together filled with unconditional love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. They welcomed their son, Cameron, in May 2016, and their daughter, Hailey, in November 2017. Along with their beloved dog, Taco, they were an inseparable family who cherished every moment together.
Steven's greatest joy in life was being a husband and father. Whether it was attending sporting events with Beth and the kids, taking the family out to enjoy their favorite steak and lobster dinners, or simply spending quiet evenings at home enjoying Beth's delicious home-cooked meals, homemade baked goods, and watching their favorite television shows together, Steven treasured every second with the people he loved most.
Steven considered his greatest accomplishments in life to be raising his two children, Cameron and Hailey, and having the privilege of coaching Cameron's Little League baseball teams for four seasons. Coaching wasn't just something he did—it was something he truly loved. He took pride in mentoring young athletes, teaching them teamwork, confidence, perseverance, and sportsmanship while creating memories that would last a lifetime. One unforgettable season, Steven led his team to an undefeated record, an achievement he was incredibly proud of. He was excitedly looking forward to the day he could coach Hailey's team as well, a dream that reflected his unwavering love and dedication to his children. Though he won't have the opportunity to stand in her dugout, the lessons, encouragement, and love he gave will continue to inspire both Cameron and Hailey throughout their lives.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Steven had a passion for softball that brought together family and lifelong friends. He proudly played in two softball leagues—one alongside Beth and his cousin, Doogz, and another for more than ten years with his father, other family members, and close friends. The friendships, laughter, and memories made on the field were among his greatest treasures.
Steven will be remembered for his generous heart, infectious smile, unwavering loyalty, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. He lived with kindness, humility, and a quiet strength that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the countless memories he created, the love he gave so freely, and the family who meant everything to him.
Steven is survived by his devoted wife, Beth; his beloved children, Cameron and Hailey; his cherished dog, Taco; his parents, Steve and Veronica Cohen; his sisters, Desiree and Kiana; and many extended family members, friends, coworkers, teammates, and neighbors who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Though Steven's time with us was far too short, the love he shared and the lives he touched will never be forgotten. His memory will live on in every family gathering, every softball and baseball game, every home-cooked meal, every sporting event, and every moment spent together with loved ones.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
