Steve Martin

March 8, 1963 — March 5, 2024

Shadow Hills

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Steve Martin, a wonderful husband, father, brother, son, uncle, and friend who left us on March 5, 2024, just short of his 61st birthday. Born on March 8, 1963, Steve was a man of high intelligence, an analytical mind and meticulous precision. He was also known for his killer sense of humor and practical jokes. His bright, vibrant personality reflected his love for equally bright colors, particularly orange.

Steve graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Denver, CO in 1981 and pursued his higher education at the University of Northern Colorado, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration: Management. In 1986, he moved to Los Angeles, California to attend USC, where he earned a Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene in 1988. He began his career in safety administration at the City of Glendale in 1987, where he dedicated three decades of his life to serving the city employees and the community before retiring in 2018. He had a tremendous passion for his work.

He married the love of his life, Aymee Tapanian, in 2005 and was blessed with two beautiful children, Sophia and Anthony, born in 2010 and 2012 respectively. Steve loved his family deeply and devoted his life to being a loving husband and an exceptional father. He was predeceased by his parents, Barb and Bill Martin, and is survived by his sister, Mary Jo Martin.

Steve was a man of diverse interests. He had a taste for Mexican food and would make sure to hit up his favorite spots when visiting Colorado. He enjoyed a good Honey Brown Beer, while working in his garage or listening to activity on his scanners. He was an avid musician with an ear for good music. Steve was a drummer in his early years, having played in a band called the Fantasticks. He had an eclectic music collection, which included jazz, big band and rock. He loved football with passion and was a faithful supporter of the Denver Broncos – a love he shared with his daughter. Steve also enjoyed making his famous guacamole, grilling his signature hot dogs and hamburgers, making Grandma Glady’s famous fudge, and decorating cakes. He was a master at piping beautiful roses.

Steve was an adventurer at heart, finding joy in visiting numerous vacation spots. Some of his favorites were Washington DC, New York, Colorado, Hawaii, and Alaska. No matter how busy he was, Steve was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His legacy of generosity, kindness, and love will be forever imprinted in the hearts of those who knew him.

A funeral service will be held for Steve at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills - Church of the Hills (aka White Church) on March 21, 2024, at 4:00 PM. A memorial dinner (hokejash) will follow the funeral service at New Impressions in Glendale, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations will be used to establish a scholarship fund in Steve's memory, at https://everloved.com/life-of….

Steve will forever be remembered as a man full of life, love, and laughter. His absence leaves a void in our hearts, but his memory will continue to live on through the lives he touched. We will remember him, not for how he left this world, but how he lived in it.
