Stephen Juhl

October 10, 1983 — February 23, 2024

Stephen Ronald Juhl was born October 10, 1983 in Newport Beach, California. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 23, 2024 at age 40 in North Hollywood, California. The youngest in an airline family, Stephen grew up in Aurora, Colorado with two older sisters, and attended St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church. Like a lot of boys in the 1980's, Stephen had a love for animals, dinosaurs, Godzilla, magic tricks, classic television shows like Get Smart, Herbie movies, and Back To The Future with the iconic DeLorean time machine. While still in high school, Stephen was able to locate and purchase a 1983 DMV DeLorean, delighting his car enthusiast father and beginning the constant  adventure of owning a DeLorean and sharing enthusiasm for unique cars.

As a child, Stephen enjoyed performing magic shows for his family, friends, and local venues including the well known entertainment restaurant Casa Bonita in Lakewood, CO.  As a teenager he participated in several paleontology digs at the Dinosaur National Monument in Northwest Colorado and contributing to Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Always a performer, he studied theater at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2007.

After graduation Stephen moved to Los Angeles, CA to pursue his dreams on the stage and in film. A talented artist, he joined the Screen Actors Guild in 2013. Stephen’s diverse acting career spanned film, television, and theater. He was involved in numerous productions over the years with theater companies including: SkyPilot, Palm Tree & Pine, Proof Doubt Closer, J-P Productions. Stephen was also a very skilled Director, traveling twice to direct at the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. He was currently working on The Dwarf at the LA Opera and directing a production of Othello with J-P Productions. His leading role in the feature film A Doll's House is set to be released later this year, as well as other film projects still in post production.

Suffice to say Stephen was always creating and giving back. He was a kind soul who befriended nearly everyone he met regardless of their perceived flaws or social inequities.

Stephen leaves behind his beloved longtime girlfriend Jenny Skiffington, and many dear friends and family. He is preceded in death by his father Ronald Juhl, and is survived by his mother Patricia Juhl, sisters Amanda Juhl and Jennifer Henry (Justin), niece Abigail Sullivan, nephew Noah Sullivan, and brother-in-law John Sullivan. A celebration of life service will be held at 1pm on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Theatre West,
3333 Cahuenga Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90068. A separate memorial in Colorado will be held at a later date.
