Stephen "Steve" John Maravilla Grajera, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, departed from this world on October 2, 2025, in Cerritos, California. Born on February 6, 1977, at St Mary's Hospital in Torrance, Steve's presence was a gift that resonated deeply within the hearts of many, leaving an indelible mark through his character and passions.
Steve had an innate ability to transform ordinary moments into cherished memories. His home was often a sanctuary of warmth and connection, where family and friends would flock to celebrate milestones and special occasions. He took immense delight in preparing his favorite meals and grilling for those he loved. Music flowed through his life, as he strummed his guitar and played tunes that echoed the laughter and love shared by those surrounding him.
Steve's life was enriched by experiences that molded him into the man he became. He received his foundational education at St Irenaeus Catholic School in Cypress, California, and continued his studies at Guam Community College, earning an Associate of Occupational Studies Degree in Automotive/Diesel Technology from Universal Technical Institute in Arizona. For 25 years, Stephen dedicated himself to the exhilarating world of automotive technology, working as an Automotive Technician at Norm Reeves Honda in Cerritos. A well-qualified ASE Master Automobile Technician and team leader, he exemplified craftsmanship and discipline in his profession.
Stephen leaves behind his loving father, Bernabe "Bernie" Valdespina Grajera; stepmother, Margie Veneracion; beloved Aunts Dina Villanueva Maravilla & Aurea Tan, sister; Patricia Marie Grajera Bates; brother-in-law, Kenneth Allen Bates; and his cherished nieces and nephews: Jasmine Noelle Kastner, Teiya Bailey Kastner, Logan Chance Bates, Alexis Cheyenne Bates, and London Chase Bates. His memory will continue to live on through numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, both in California and Guam, who feel grateful to have been part of his journey.
He now joins his beloved mother, Myrna Villanueva Maravilla Grajera, his grandparents, Carlos and Josephine Maravilla, Aniceto and Alejandra Grajera, Uncle Teofilo Tan and his dearest cousin Anthony Maravilla Fejeran in eternal peace.
