Starr Brenda Marshall

July 18, 1949 — January 28, 2012

Atkinson, NH: Starr Brenda (Dow) Marshall, of Atkinson, NH, age 62, beloved mother of Janelle L. (Marshall) Boksanski and Daniel L. Negri, died unexpectedly of a brain aneurysm last Saturday morning at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
She was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick on July 18, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd & Phyllis (Hanson) Dow, the wife of the late David W. Marshall who died on September 16, 1973, and former partner of the late Ernest F. Negri who died on October 5, 2011.
Starr was a mother, daughter, sister, mother-in-law, aunt, great aunt, friend and her most cherished role ~ beloved Nana to Samantha and Hunter. She was simply the best person you could ever be lucky enough to know.  Her smile and laugh were infectious; you couldn -t help but to be happy in her presence.  She had so much love in her heart for everyone and you felt that love each time she gave you one of her famous hugs. Her love was unconditional and boundless. When you were feeling down Starr was the one you went to see because she would always find a bright spot for you and be there to comfort you. Everyone was her "Honey"'.
Starr's early education was in Danvers, MA and then she went to high school in Salem, MA. Starr was a hard worker all of her life.  She was fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom until her children were in their teen years.  After that she took great pride in her job at Market Basket, where she worked for the past 22 years.  Through the years she has touched the lives of several co-workers and customers with her kind, generous, helpful spirit.
Starr loved her children, son-in-law and grandchildren deeply.  Her world revolved around them, there was nothing she wouldn -t do for them.  Her best times were spent with her family, whether it was during the holidays where so many happy memories were made, or watching Samantha and Hunter fish in a pond, play basketball, or just run through the yard she enjoyed every minute.
Despite the countless family tragedies she endured throughout her life her spirit was always happy and loving, Starr taught her family to be strong and above all else to be good to others - "always treat people the way that you want to be treated"'.
Even in death Starr continued to give back to the world by becoming a successful organ donor.  This tremendous gift is what Starr wanted and knowing she would be saving others helped her family get through it.  She was always the person you could say "would give you the shirt of her back"' and in the end she gave the ultimate gift of life.  Her family and dear friends could not be more proud of her for this.  In Starr's honor please hug those you love and hug them tight.

She is survived by her cherished daughter Janelle and her husband Paul Boksanski of Danville, NH, and her adoring son Daniel Negri of Hampstead, NH. She also leaves her beloved sisters Alice Zwicker of Beverly, MA, Pearl Michaud of Center Barnstead, NH Penny Smith of Framingham, MA, and Tammy Miller of Plaistow, NH, a brother Frank Dow of Manchester, NH, her most special grandchildren Samantha Emily Boksanski of Danville, NH and Hunter Lloyd Negri of Merrimack, NH. Her "Girls"' Kristen Sola of Plaistow, NH, Tanya Lee Alberghene of Methuen, MA and Heather Fournier of Sandown, NH. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and countless friends. In addition to her parents Lloyd and Phyllis, husband David and former partner Ernie, Starr was predeceased by her siblings Lloyd Dow, Holly Brown and Melvin Dow.
