Hampstead, NH: Stanley H. Gusoski, 82, a resident of Hampstead for thirty-six years, died on April 19, 2015 at his home.
Born, raised, and educated in Hamilton, MA, son of the late Stanley Gusoski and the late Evelyn Purdy, he graduated from Hamilton High School with the Class of 1950, where he was a standout member of the Varsity Football Team.
Mr. Gusoski served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1956. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, he was employed at Bomac Industries in Beverly and later at Tobin and Sons Movers also in Beverly. He retired as a Security Guard at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
Lead Singer of the Stan Purdy Country Western Band, Mr. Gusoski raised Parakeets for local pet stores and had his own pet African Grey Parrot named Gurgle who was a constant companion to him. A collector of elephant figurines, Mr. Gusoski enjoyed competing at family games and was known to always manipulate the outcome by adjusting the rules to insure that he would win. He was an avid New England and Boston sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics. Mr. Gusoski had a quick wit and a sense of humor that will be missed.
He was especially devoted to his mother Evelyn and his family takes great comfort in knowing that her "Sunshine" is now home and at peace with her in heaven.
He is survived by his three sons, Stanley E. Gusoski of Hampstead, Master Sargent William C. Gusoski, U.S. Air Force Ret. and his wife Deborah of Carmel, ME, and Shane L. Gusoski of Hampstead, four daughters, Donna L. Chapman and her husband Harvey of Middletown, RI, Evelyn Grace Hart and her husband Richard of Middletown, RI, Cynthia M. Lee and her husband Brian of Hampstead, and April S. Fichera and her husband John of Sandown, a brother, Francis "Squeaky" Purdy of Hamilton, MA, five sisters, Evelyn Hagar of Topsfield, MA, Sally Taylor of Wenham, MA, Cyndy Morong of Wenham, MA, Ella Arsenault of Danvers, MA, and Carlene Purdy of Danvers, MA, nineteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Steven Purdy and his step-father, Arthur Purdy.
