Sophie A. Terlecky

Sophie Ann (Zawko) Terlecky passed away November 2, 2016 in Upland, California. Sophie was born the youngest of 9 children to Harry and Katherine (Burchyn) Zawko in Salisbury, New York on November 27, 1922. In July 1946 she married John Terlecky in Los Angeles, California and lived in West Covina, California for 45 years. In 2002, she moved to Alta Loma, California.
Sophie was an avid reader, an extensive walker, loved her dogs and her labor of love were her roses, cymbidiums, orchids and tomatoes.
She is preceded by her parents, her sisters Mary Lyga, Stella Maksuta, Anna Ervey, her brothers Luke, Dennis, Michael, Peter and John, and her husband John Terlecky. She is survived by her daughter Donna Harden and her son Gregory (Alice), her grandchildren Michael (Anadel), Gerald (Sarah), Megan and her great nephew Andrew Dubick. Her great grandchildren Alexandria, Jordan, Mickelle, Addison, Preston and numerous other nieces & nephews.
Viewing services to be held Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Forest Lawn Covina Hills from 5:00PM to 9:00PM. Graveside service will be held Monday, November 7, 2016 at Forest Lawn Covina Hills at 11:00AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or the ASPCA.
