Socorro Valles Lucero

Socorro Valles Lucero, 89, born on October 28, 1926, in Los Angeles, California, passed away July 20, 2016. She resided in Santa Ana, California, at the time of her passing. Socorro was married to her late husband, Castulo E. Lucero on October 2nd, 1950. We pray they are now reunited and now share the love, joy and companionship that was stolen from them so many years ago. Hardwork and dedication earned her much respect from her friends and in her career as a Machinist working at a oil drilling machinery shop. Socorro loved good food and gardening, her skilled hands could crochet with wonderful finesse and speed, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. She especially loved dancing, automobiles, reading and history.

Through out her entire life Socorro was loved by many, her kindness and sincerity earning her many friends over the years. One of whom was a very special pen pal, Lesley who lives in Liverpool, England. Lesley's entire family grew to love Socorro: Collin, her husband and their children Conor and Nadia. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and she loved being involved in their lives. When she could, she would make the trip all the way out to Florida from California to visit with her son, Larry and his family.

Her indomitable spirit is carried on by her family and friends from every walk of life. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Socorro during her years, among them: To never give up despite hardship, to love and care for your family and to always keep your faith in God.

A funeral service was held at the Crystal Cathedral for friends and family on July 28, 2016.
