In Loving Memory of Shiru Hong

Shiru Hong passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, at the age of 90, in Pomona, California. He was born on November 10,1935 in Haifeng County, Guangdong Province, China. Throughout his life, he was known as a hardworking and dependable man who cared deeply for his family.

In his early years, he worked as a bus driver and later served as a safety control officer. He took great pride in his work and was respected for his responsibility and dedication. Outside of work, he enjoyed repairing broken electrical appliances and had a deep love for music. He found joy in fixing things with his hands and in spending quiet moments listening to songs he loved. Though he did not follow a particular religion, he lived with kindness, humility, and strength throughout his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Xiujuan Luo; his children, Jiaguang Hong (Ka Kwun Hung), Xuehui Hong, Xiaoli Hong, Jiaguo Hong, and Xiaona Hong; as well as his grandchildren, relatives, and friends, who will forever cherish his memory. His gentle spirit, wisdom, and quiet sacrifices will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
