Shirley Ann Morine

July 16, 1932 — June 1, 2015

Shirley A. Morine of Palm Desert, CA was born on July 16, 1932 in Isanti Township, Isanti County, MN to Anna and Frank Johnson. She met Edward Morine in Patuxent River, MD while he was in the Navy and they married in Isanti, MN. on September 29, 1951. They later moved to Spring Valley, Mn and had 3 children, Steve, Wayne and Carol. A job change moved them to Iowa where they spent many more years raising their children and working. Shirley worked as a tax accountant for 20+ years starting at H & R Block and transitioning to preparing taxes in her own private business. She was an avid photographer and able to win awards with some of the images she captured.
After retiring in 1986 Shirley and Ed started to travel. A chance rental in Colorado in 1989 led them to the purchase of an Air Stream trailer and thus began years of traveling and hosting a caravan group. They traveled from Alaska to Florida seeing the sites, making many friends and were able to see family all over the US. Shirley was also able to travel to Sweden and retrace the steps of her Grandparents before they immigrated to America. In 2002 they decided to travel less and settled down in Palm Desert, Ca.
Shirley passed away on June 1, 2015 leaving behind a loving family and many friends. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ed, son Steve and his wife Chris Morine, son Wayne and his wife Suzanne Morine, daughter Carol and her husband Skip Barry, grandchildren Joelle Barry and Nicole Morine and her sister Doris Sparks.

She was an inspiration to those that knew her.She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. Everyone learned from her what it really means to be kind and genuine. She left her mark on and in our lives in many ways. We all will miss her greatly and will be forever in our hearts.

Shirley is in eternal rest at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
