Shirley D. Jones

Shirley Dee (Holt) Jones passed away peacefully on July 7, 2019. Shirley was born on December 9, 1929 in Los Angeles, California to Elvia and Giles Holt. Shirley follows her husband, Mort, and their son, Wally. She is survived by her sister Karol (Bill) Hargrove, nieces Karen (Rick) Mohr, Linda (Greg) Mackay, and Johna (Jim) Wilson, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Shirley is remembered for her spunky personality, patriotism, work ethic, and love of her family. Shirley loved traveling with her sisters and nieces, and taking her grandkids on special 'dates with Shirley' to Disneyland and Medieval Times. Some of her greatest memories were trips to New York City and riding on Space Mountain. Most of all, she treasured time with family, at home or away.

Everyone will remember Shirley by her signature red lipstick, love of adventure, long phone conversations, delight at picking the perfect assortment at See's Candies, and unconditional love and support of her entire family.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 13 at 9:00am at Forrest Lawn Cypress. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to a charity in memory of Shirley. Suggestions include the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian Fund, the Humane Society, or the American Red Cross.
