In Loving Memory of Sheryl Silver
Sheryl Silver, 80, of Rancho Mirage, California, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025. She was born on March 1, 1945, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and moved to Miami Beach at the age of eight.
From an early age, Sheryl displayed a vibrant personality — colorful, determined, and full of life. She graduated from Miami Beach High in 1962 and from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1966. During college she became a proud member of Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority and carried those friendships and values with her throughout her life.
Sheryl built a remarkable career in the garment industry, working as a junior sportswear buyer for Burdines in Miami, and later in New York City for Macy’s. She rose through the ranks to become a Divisional Merchandise Manager, overseeing a 120-store chain, and eventually served as President of the Harve Bernard Junior Dress Division. Her impeccable style and love of beautiful, well-put-together outfits shone through in everything she did — whether at work or at a party.
Later, she extended her career in the mortgage industry, partnering in Pacific Coast Mortgage and serving as an advisor and leader in the field.
Sheryl was deeply involved in Rotary International, serving as Chartering President of Evening Star Rotary in 2009, as Public Relations Chair, and as Chair of the Million Meals Campaign — raising food and money for over 750,000 meals, one of her proudest accomplishments.
She loved life and all its celebrations. Whether it was golf, bocce, swimming, tennis, skiing, or cycling, Sheryl embraced it with energy and enthusiasm. She adored parties, theme costumes, card games, and any excuse to gather people and have fun. Her sense of humor, silly streak, and love of a good theme made her a fixture at any celebration.
Sheryl was predeceased by her beloved partner, Diane Sharp, in 2015.
She is remembered with love by her friends, family, and her extended Rotary family.
