Northridge

Sheila Crawford, born on November 21, 1941, in Maracaibo, Venezuela, peacefully passed away on April 22, 2026, in Northridge, CA. Sheila is remembered by her family as feisty, humorous, loving, and caring.

Sheila graduated from Granada Hills Highland High School and went on to build a career she never thought she would have based on a life marked by epilepsy. She spent many years as a supervisor at San Fernando Electric Co. Sheila also worked at Morrow Nut House in the Topanga Mall before ultimately retiring from Hostess Bakeries, having worked in both Canoga Park and Torrance locations. Throughout her professional life, she embodied hard work and a love for interacting with customers.

A woman of many passions, Sheila found immense joy in gardening, which she lovingly shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her garden was not just a place of beauty but a place where relationships and love were strengthened. Sheila delighted in reading, especially to her "babies," her affectionate name for her youngest family members. Her faith deeply shaped her journey; she cherished her Lord and Savior and frequently shared with friends and neighbors how her trust in God remained a precious cornerstone throughout her life.

Sheila was also an avid quilter, crafting beautiful works of art that brought comfort and joy to many family members. One of her quilts was considered for a contest, a testament to her skill and dedication, though she chose to keep the treasured piece rather than parting with it. This reflected Sheila’s spirited nature—feisty, spirited, and determined. When she discovered that she would have to give the quilt away to the company if she won the contest, she stated that she would not give it away as she had worked too hard on it.

Sheila’s family was the center of her world. She is survived by her three daughters, five grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews; all of whom were blessed to know her as the best GG ever, as her great-grandchildren fondly called her. Sheila’s infectious humor, warmth, and feistiness remain alive in their hearts, carrying her spirit forward.

Sheila is predeceased by her beloved parents, six brothers and sisters, her husband, and two children. Her family's love for her is the deepest well.

Family, friends, and all who were touched by Sheila's love are invited to honor her memory at the visitation on May 17, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Lawn - Glendale, located at 1712 South Glendale Avenue in Glendale, CA.
