Shawn Matthew Amisola Barrett, known to many as "ShawnRedKid" or "Shawnyboy," passed away on January 23, 2024, in West Covina. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose presence touched the lives of all who knew him.

Born on May 31, 1994, Shawn lived a happy life filled with determination and kindness. Despite facing challenges associated with autism, he embraced it as his superpower and approached each day with unwavering strength. Shawn's legacy is one of resilience and perseverance; he never gave up and tackled every obstacle with courage.

Throughout his academic journey, Shawn excelled as an honorable student. He graduated from Diamond Ranch High School in 2012 and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Cal State Fullerton in 2021. His dedication to learning extended beyond the classroom as he shared his knowledge and passion by working as a tutor, influencing the minds of young learners.

Shawn's vibrant personality shone through in everything he did. He was known for his kind and attentive nature, always ready to lend a helping hand or share his wisdom with others. His patience knew no bounds, and his love for the things he cherished was evident in all aspects of his life.

In his free time, Shawn found joy in various hobbies. From gaming to creating content on YouTube, collecting Yugioh cards to watching anime, and playing basketball to mastering Pokemon – his interests were as diverse as they were exciting. Each pursuit brought him happiness and allowed him to express his creativity.

Among Shawn's proudest accomplishments was not just the degrees he earned or the job he held but the personal growth he experienced every day. He transformed into an independent individual who embraced challenges and strived for excellence in everything he pursued.

Shawn will be dearly missed by his surviving family members: his mother Evalita Barrett, father Erickson Barrett, older brother Steven Barrett, younger brother Shayne Barrett, and grandfather Robert Barrett on his father's side. He will now sit alongside his deceased grandmothers Adoracion Barrett, and Julita M. Amisola; and his deceased grandfather Manolito J. Amisola.

Memories of Shawn will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His impact on others through his kindness, intelligence, and perseverance will continue to inspire generations to come.

Services to celebrate Shawn's life will be held at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills - Tribute Center in Covina on March 1, 2024. A visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM.

In honor of Shawn's memory, may we find strength in his example of never giving up and always approaching life with love and determination.
