Sharon Fitzgerald, affectionately known as Sheri and Sherence, was born on January 28, 1942, in Los Angeles, California. After a life dedicated to serving the public in the Retail Grocery business, Sharon passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, in Torrance, California.
Sharon was a beacon of joy and laughter, always quick with a joke and a smile that could light up any room. Her wit and humor were as memorable as the many unforgettable experiences she shared with her loved ones. Sharon's greatest treasures were her family and friends, with whom she created countless cherished memories. She delighted in connecting with others—her warmth and infectious laughter made every gathering an occasion to remember.
A passionate animal lover, Sharon had a special fondness for her pets. She leaves behind her beloved parrot, BJ, and her loving cats: Little Girl, Pastel, Peanut, Magee, Sawyer, and Zelda, who brought great joy to her life.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Lisa Toler and Vicki Toler, who carry forward the kindness and humor she instilled in them. Her family circle also includes niece Sandy Crall and her husband Brian, niece Jeanne Tomlinson, nephew Steve McHenry and his wife Nelda, nephew Ronnie Ellis, and many other cherished relatives and friends: Mike M and his wife Susie, Doug M, Tony M and his wife Cindy along with their family, David H and family, Tammy (S) N and husband Jason and their family, Thomas M and his wife Erin and their family, Brody Jackson and his wife Brianna, Casey F and family, and Anthony C and his son Phillip, Tyler J, Alissa J.
Long-time family friends Carla F and her husband John, alongside Judy F of Redondo Beach, also mourn Sharon's loss. She created bonds that transcended the ordinary, cultivating friendships that spanned years and miles, always nurturing those connections with love and laughter.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Margaret Frenger, her brother Paul David Frenger, and sisters Peggy Hart and Esther Allen. Her husband, Dennis Fitzgerald, left this world before her, along with her loving niece Julie Denison and dear great-nephew Rory Jackson. Her beloved cats, Snowflake, Sybee, Rusty, and her cherished cat Molly, also await her beyond.
As we remember Sharon Fitzgerald, we reflect on a life filled with humor, compassion, and an unwavering zest for life. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know this remarkable woman. May her spirit continue to inspire laughter and love long after her departure.
