Sergio Pascual

September 9, 1945 — May 11, 2023

Glendale

On September 9, 1945, Sergio was born to Nicodemos Pascual and Julita Ileto in San Miguel, Bulacan. As the second child among three, Sergio grew up in Manila with his sister Mercy Pascual, sharing many happy childhood memories.

In 1966, Sergio married his college friend Lourdes Carlos, and they have a son named after his oldest brother, Manuel, who passed away in a camping accident with the Boy Scouts. Sergio was incredibly proud of Manuel, his caring daughter-in-law Josifel Galicto Pascual, and his two cherished grandchildren:  Moriah Ysabelle and Jose Gabriel.

As a father figure, Sergio helped raise his grandnephew Eudinel Joshua Lopez with unwavering dedication and care. He fulfilled his duties with empathy and devotion, confidently serving as a loving and attentive dad to his beloved grandnephew. Seeing Eudinel grow up to be a responsible, fine young man and become a loving husband to Gabrielle Angela Gomez Lopez was one of the joys of Sergio's life.

After graduating from college with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Sergio pursued the tailoring business, a trade his father had taught and trained him in. He worked as a Production Manager and Cutter at the Manila branch of two European fashion houses, Pierre Cardin, and Carlo Palazzi; and he later managed Bonne Race, a local custom-made clothing shop in Manila catering to wealthy clientele.

Sergio led a quiet life, enjoying listening to the music of Andre Rieu and similar genres. He never looked for praise or boasted, but quietly pleased those he loved the most. He seldom spoke of his worries or his dreams; and his wants were very few (which includes pansit canton, Filipino spaghetti, hamburger, chicharon burrito, and Coca Cola).  He was always kind and patient with his family, friends, and relatives; and his coworkers respected him for his hard work and integrity.

Sergio became a born-again Christian in 1995 when he accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of his life at the Capitol City Foursquare Church in Quezon City Philippines.  He attended Maranatha International Baptist Church in the City of Malabon and Silver Lake Foursquare Church in California.  He served God faithfully by giving back part of his income to the church and outreach ministries and serving during church fellowship gatherings.

Sergio's wife of 56 years, Lourdes, his sister Mercy, son Manuel, daughter-in-law Josifel, grandchildren Moriah Ysabelle and Jose Gabriel, niece Marie Jane, grandnephew, and grandniece Eudinel Joshua and Gabrielle Angela, and furry family members Chloe and Charlie will all miss him dearly.
