Scott A. Gero, 60, born on May 25, 1954, in Malone, New York, passed away August 30, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr Gero was raised in Massena, New York and resided in Diamond Bar, California at the time of his passing.

Mr. Gero attended Holy Family High School in Massena, New York, graduating in 1972 and SUNY Canton College graduating in 1974. He was employed for 27 years at Smart & Final in the position of Director of Buying and Distribution Systems and Supply Chain.

Mr. Gero was survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. (Jimenez) Gero who he married on November 21, 1981. He also survived by his daughter, Valerie A. Gero and her partner, Bryan McIntyre, his two beloved grandsons, Caleb and Christian, his sisters, Carol (Gero) Fenton and Lisa (Gero) Herbstler, both of Massena, New York, and Marsha (Gero) Gleussner of Austintown, Ohio, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Earl B. Gero and mother, Margaret (Mayhew) Gero.

Scott enjoyed spending time with his family, watching all sporting events on his big screen TV, and traveling.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11:30 AM at Forest Lawn, 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, California 91724.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in his name to The American Cancer Society.
