Saverio Cavezza

Saverio Cavezza, 85 years of age, passed away Monday, December 31, 2024, at his home in Van Nuys, CA. Saverio was born on July 29, 1939, in Cicciano, Italy, to late parents Geremia Cavezza and Govina DeSimone. He was the youngest of 4 children, 3 preceded him in death. Saverio was a loving and generous husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Saverio married Virginia Miele in 1961 in Roccarainola, Italy, before they then moved to Altrip, Germany. They had a daughter in 1962, and a son in 1965. In Germany, Saverio worked as a carpenter for 10 years, and in 1971 they immigrated to the United States of America, which was Saverio's dream. In New York City, he worked in construction for 6 years before they moved to Los Angeles, California in 1977. There, Saverio worked in construction before he went into the Motion Picture Industry building movie sets until his retirement. He fulfilled his dream of being in Hollywood, working in motion pictures, meeting big movie stars, and creating countless friendships that lasted until his passing.

Saverio was a humble person, always looking to help and support others. Besides motion pictures, his passions included automobiles, astronomy, history, the 49ers, his yard, and most of all his beloved fig tree. 

Saverio is survived by his wife of 63 years Virginia Cavezza, his children Gina Cavezza and Jim Cavezza, and his three grandchildren Stefano Cavezza, Dominicq Cavezza, and Cassandra Cavezza. He leaves behind cousins, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends. 

Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, CA. A memorial reception will be held at The Smokehouse in Burbank, CA starting at 11:30 after the funeral service.
