Lord on the early morning of July 31, 2023
In the comfort of her own home.
She was born on September 23, 1935,
In Tabor SD to Daniel and Margaret Gross.
She grew up in Bon Homme Colony, and
This is where she met her husband Jacob
J Waldner. They married on May 14, 1955,
In Tabor, SD.
They left Bon Homme Colony in 1959.
After leaving Bon Homme, they lived in many parts of Iowa,
raising their boys. Farming in various areas of Iowa.
Sarah worked hard her entire life, at times working
2 jobs, and taking care of her family.
On Labor Day 1985 she along with her
Husband and son Peter decided to pack up and move to
Southern California.
Sarah’s most recent employment was for Satellite management , as the
manager for many years. She loved managing the Greenhouse Complex and
Received many awards throughout her career there for her
Ability to keep her apartments occupied to full capacity. This job gave
Her the opportunity to also help out her children and grandchildren.
Her residents absolutely loved her. They often showered her
With gifts on Holidays and just because gifts! She would be spotted
By former residents outside of the complex and they always loved to stop
And visit and tell her how much they miss living there…because she made
It so much like a Home for them. She worked side by side with her son Jake for
All these years and also her husband, until his retirement. During the years
Her son Danny and Ed also worked with her.
You knew when you walked into her office, you’d be greeted with
Her smile and kindness, surrounded by positive energy.
She ended her working career in 2009.
Sarah and her son Jake traveled abroad to visit family in
Summer 2009. They enjoyed time in Switzerland, Austria and Italy. It was a Trip of a Lifetime for her.
