Santos Acevedo, 88, born on November 2, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away August 15, 2014. He resided in Buena Park, California, at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.

Santos Acevedo was born on November 2, 1925 in Kansas City Missouri, to Eluterio Acevedo and Inez Trevino. He passed away on August 15, 2014. He served in Korea as a member of the US Army. He was known as 'Red' to many of his friends due to the reddish hue of his curly hair. After his service in the army, he returned to his home in Bayard Nebraska, and trained as a tailor. He met and married the love of his life, Tillie Lopez in November 1952. They settled in Scottsbluff Ne, where all eight of their children were born. In 1970, Santos bravely left his family in NE to seek a better life for them in California. After a few months and with the help of his brother in law Ben Lopez, he secured a permanent job as a meat warehouseman at Lucky's Warehouse in Buena Park. He became a proud member of the Butcher's Union, and worked until his retirement in 1990. Santos was an avid Angel fan, and rarely missed a game. His 8 children gave him 21 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Santos was a devoted member of St Pius V Catholic Church, a life time member of the VFW, and an active member of the American GI Forum. He was a devoted husband, wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather, brother and uncle. He has greatly influenced the lives of his family with his very high standards and strong character. He will be missed every day. He is survived by his wife Tillie, sisters, Inez Acevedo and Virginia Murphy and eight children, Vivian Ryman (Bob d.), Jennifer Requejo (Joe), Tony Acevedo (Janet), Sonya Garay (Robert), Patrick Acevedo (Anna), Cindy Keys (Shannon), Tim Acevedo (Daphne) and Cindy Guffy (Jason).
