Atkinson, NH: Sandra J. (Lewis) (Romano) Thomas, 71, a resident of Atkinson for fifteen years, and formerly of Agawam, MA and W. Springfield, MA, died on May 18, 2016 at Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley, Haverhill, MA, after being stricken at her home.

Born in Springfield, MA where she lived for most of her life, the daughter of the late K. Morgan and Eunice (Huckins) Lewis, she attended W. Springfield High School, graduating with the Class of 1963. She went on to attend Holyoke Community College.

She worked as a Contractor Expeditor for Home Depot, W. Springfield, MA and was transferred to the Salem, NH store in 2001, where she worked until her retirement. A member of St. Anne's Parish, Hampstead, NH, she was an active volunteer with the Food Pantry and a former CCD teacher. Mrs. Thomas enjoyed working on her computer, gardening, cooking and traveling.

She is survived by her husband of fifteen years, James F. Thomas; two sons and daughter-in-law, David Romano of Palmer, MA and Daniel and Lisa Romano of Feeding Hills, MA; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard H. and Simone Lewis of West Springfield, MA; a sister, Mary Lewis of W. Springfield, MA; four grandchildren, Cherish Romano, Cinnamon Romano, Ciara Romano and Michael Barboza; one great-grandchild, Sage Romano and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son, Richard Romano.

Relatives and friends may call on Monday, May 23, 2016, from 4 to 8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Rt. 121A, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will begin on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at 9:15 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:30 AM at St. Anne's Church, Hampstead, NH. A private burial service will take place at a later date in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, W. Springfield, MA.
