Elaine LeVine
11/9/1943-1/12/2024
Sandra Elaine LeVine was born on Nov. 9, 1943 to Carlos and Annie Maestas, the second child after her brother Charles and elder sister to Diane and Cindy. The family grew up in Las Vegas, New Mexico surrounded by a large extended family. Her father quickly decided she was more “Elaine” than “Sandra” and that was that. She loved her family ranch, driving her father’s cars from his garage and was so proud of her beautiful Southwest heritage in New Mexico. She graduated Robertson High School and attended Highlands University which is where she met the love of her life, Henry LeVine. They married and had their son Charles in Las Vegas, NM then moved to Albuquerque, San Francisco and finally settled in Los Angeles. Elaine and Henry successfully ran a nursing home business with Elaine handling the accounting for the company and the family through 2023.
She was an extraordinary mom to Charles, volunteering at absolutely everything he was involved in including Cub Scouts, horses, baseball, football, karate and his high school, Crespi, where she proudly ran Caper. She quickly became a mom to all of his high school friends. When she became a grandma, she was equally devoted to Tina, Charlie and Ollie and she never missed any event they were a part of, making the drive from Tarzana to the South Bay in LA traffic without complaint. They were blessed to have her so close in their lives.
Elaine was an incredibly generous, hard-working and loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She worked tirelessly to take care of the people she loved, and was an amazing and loyal friend. Her greatest accomplishment, she would tell you, was her marriage of 56 years to her best friend Henry. She was so proud of the life they built, working side by side to create a loving family and her legacy will be forever honored and never forgotten.
