Obituary
Sandra Lee Harmon
“Sandy”
June 24, 1941 – July 29, 2024
Sandra Lee Harmon, "Sandy", was born on June 24, 1941 in Wheeling, West Virginia
Sandra was the second child and first daughter of Julius Karl Proeger and Ann Elizabeth Proeger (formerly Meyers). As a pre-teen, Sandy moved with her family to Los Angeles and nestled into the Glendale suburb area. She attended Hoover High School and church functions in Glendale. Sandy met her first husband, Alex Gonzales, Jr. through a mutual friend, Terry (Mendez) McBreen. They married at a young age and had two children, Denise and Timothy. Years later they divorced. Sandy would go on to meet Fred, whom she had one child with, James Wilson. Sandy spent many years being a busy working single mom.
Sandy later went on to live most of her life in Burbank, California where she met her late husband, John “Jack” Harmon. She loved entertaining family in her home and watching her grandchildren play in her pool. She also enjoyed shopping, cooking, spending time with friends, playing cards, going to casinos, and especially frequenting Santa Anita racetrack with friends and family.
Sandra was greeted on the other side of the veil by those family members who have preceeded her in death: her husband Jack, her father, mother, a number of her nieces and nephews, older brother Bill, younger brother Ronnie, and her son, Timothy.
Sandra is survived by her younger sister, Sherry, daughter Denise, son James, grandchildren Bailee, Emmalee, Megan, Aslan, great-grandson Luca, and god-daughter Laura (Gonzales) Collins.
Our family would like to graciously acknowledge Steve Steuart, who spent the better part of the last 15 years by Sandy's side. His loyalty and steadfast companionship is a testament to the love they shared for one another. We love you Steve and know you miss her dearly.
We will all remember and cherish the memories we have with Sandy and carry them in our hearts forever. We sincerely appreciate thoughts and prayers extended to our family during this difficult time. Please refer to additional information below for details of her service.
