Sandra Elaine Fields

August 19, 1943 — January 26, 2018

Sandra Elaine Fields was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 19, 1943 to Artis and Pearline (Betty) Fields. At six months of age, she and her parents moved to California. She attended Los Angeles city schools and eventually graduated from Manual Arts High School. Sandra married and gave birth to three children.

Sandra has worked many types of jobs from being employed as a Coke factory worker to an Eligibility Worker for Los Angeles County from which she retired. Out of the jobs that she held, being a foster mom was where she thrived and found her passion. She touched lives and deeply impacted everyone that came into her home. This passion and selflessness led to her fostering more than a dozen children and later adopting two of them.

Sandra (Sandi to all who knew her) enjoyed life, made lifelong friends, loved to laugh and cook. She put effort and time into everything that she did throughout her life. She has been part of several cooking clubs, Norco Knotty Knitters (providing knitted items to military personnel, the homeless, women and children). She is a Christian and has attended Abundant Living Family Church in Rancho Cucamonga.

On Friday, January 26, 2018, she left us for heaven surrounded by family in her home. She leaves behind her children: Marvin Johns, Pamela Barber, Sheila Barber, Alayna Jones, Christopher Langston; grandchildren: Daniel (Tran) Clarke, Rachael Clarke, David Jenkins, Christian Ross, Ashleigh Ross; brothers: Reggie Fields, Rod Fields; aunts: Clara Smith, Tina Evans; nieces and nephew (who she is like a mother to): Lydia Alexander, Danay Taylor, Jamari Roberts; cousin (who she is like a sister to): Debra (Herb) Inglove; and a host of family and friends who deeply loved and cared for her. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Carolyn McKinney.

Although she has passed on, she will always be with us and will truly be missed.
