Obituary

Sandra Lucy Adcox (Mace) born on February 13, 1944, to the parents of Joseph and Jeanette Mace (preceded in death), sister to Lucille Wallace (Bob) and Tommy Mace.  She was born in Hartford, Connecticut but raised in Glendale, California and has lived there for 70 years.

Sandy married her former spouse, Roy Adcox (preceded in death), in 1963, with whom they shared their only daughter, Pam.

Sandy is a legendary product of the Glendale schools and definitely a legend of John Muir Elementary School where she worked for 40 years.  She moved to Glendale at the age of 13 and attended Wilson Jr. High and graduated from Glendale High, class of 1962. Everyone knows her from the school days of her only daughter, Pam, as Sandy the Noon-Aide/Cafeteria lady, Sandy/Mom's Taxi, or the Avon lady.

Sandy made countless memories with all of her friends whom she loved so dearly.  Especially her best friend of 70 years, also named Sandy.  Anyone that knew Sandy loved her, as she loved them, but her true loves were her 4 Grandbabies, Tinella, Ricky (preceded in death), Garrett, and Justin.  Then came her next true loves, her Great-Grandbabies, Christian, Jasper, Melody, Sadie, and Ryleigh.

Sandy loved, let's stress LOVED, Elvis. She developed her Elvis fascination early in his career in 1958 and carried it on throughout her life. Her collection consisted of anything and everything Elvis, including a large velvet painting, that to this day, she had hanging on her wall. Since everyone knew of her love of Elvis she would constantly receive gifts and mementos from their findings.

Sandy was also a diehard Dodgers and Disney fan. She watched every Dodgers game on TV religiously, always calling her brother, Tommy, to talk about the game.  If she wasn't watching the Dodgers, she was watching the Disney channel.  Sandy celebrated her 80th birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland, and she was overjoyed the entire time.  Cherry on top was meeting and hugging her favorite mouse, Mickey, and whispering into his ear, "I watch you every day!"

Sandy also had an eclectic collection of salt and pepper shakers from all over the world. She had well over 100 sets.  Although she never traveled herself, those she knew would lovingly gift them to her. She always treasured and remembered who brought them to her and where they came from.

Sandy will be extremely missed by all her family and friends.  She leaves behind her Daughter - Pam, Son-in-law - Martin, three Grandbabies - Tinella (Bryce), Garrett (Lupita), and Justin, five Great Grandbabies - Christian, Jasper, Melody, Sadie, and Ryleigh, Sister - Lucille (Bob), Brother - Tommy, her loving Care-Giver of over 10 years - Nelly, plus nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, cousins, and many, many precious friends.
