**Obituary**

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Samuel Butler, known affectionately as "Sugar Bear" to his loved ones and friends. Samuel's journey on this earth began on May 18, 1952, in Temple, TX, and sadly came to a peaceful end on July 10, 2024.

During his remarkable life, Samuel was a devoted father to his two sons and was an extraordinary role-model to the both of them.  His self-less acts of sacrifice to always provide for his family will never be forgotten.  

Samuel dedicated over 35 years of loyal service to UPS, leaving a lasting impact through his hard work and dedication. A warm personality and kind nature endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Samuel possessed a great sense of humor that could brighten even the darkest days. His love for music was evident to all, and his infectious smile would light up any room he entered. His laughter was also contagious, bringing joy to all who were fortunate enough to hear it.

Samuel's memory will forever be cherished by his surviving family: son Joshua Butler, daughter-in-law Jennifer Butler, son David Butler, daughter-in-law Tabatha Butler, grandsons Izaac, Noah, Eli, Aaron, Thaddeus, granddaughters Charlize, and Athena; along with his sisters Frances and Viveca, brother John and a large loving group of nieces and nephews.

He is now reunited in peace with his beloved parents Theran Butler and Helen Butler and his siblings, Reather, Gregory, Leslie, and Juanetta.

The services honoring Samuel's life will be held at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills in Covina, CA. A viewing will take place on August 1, 2024 between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM with the funeral service following on August 2, 2024 at 3:00 PM.

Samuel's legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who were touched by his presence. May he rest in eternal peace.
