Salvador Mendez Villanueva

Salvador Mendez Villanueva, 89, of Cathedral City, Calif., passed away January 28, 2014 in Cathedral City. He was born January 2, 1925 in Manila, Philippines. He married Virginia Garcia in 1945 in Manila. Salvador is survived by not only his loving wife, Virginia, but by the large extended family who loved and respected him. Seeking a better life for his children, he came to America some 45 years ago. A great decision! The children will always admire and respect him, having succeeded here themselves. One's first thought of Salvador will always be the wonderful relationship he had with his loving wife, Virginia. They defined the word "inseparable". He is also survived by his daughters, Erlinda Mora, of Indiana, Leticia Chiu and Merline Ulla, of Cathedral City, Priscilla Mirra, of Indian Wells, Calif.; his sons, Salvador Villanueva Jr., of Phoenix, Ariz., Enrique Villanueva, of N.Y., Jowyn Villanueva and Albert Villanueva, of Palm Desert, Calif.; his sister, Dading; and brother, Tony; and 26 grandchildren. A visitation in his honor will be held on Saturday and Sunday, February 1st and 2nd, 2014, from 5:00 pm till 9:00 pm, with a reception on Sunday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cathedral City. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, February 3, 2014, at 12:00 pm, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Ramon Chapel.
