Salvador Tirona, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on April 25, 2005 in Cerritos, California, at the age of 79.
Born on May 23rd, 1945 in Imus Cavite, Philippines, to Sixto Mendoza Tirona and Constancia Lacson Tirona.
Salvador lived a life full of dedication, hard work, and love.
As a proud merchant marine, he spent much of his career working aboard oil tanker ships, traveling across the world’s oceans with resilience and pride. His adventurous spirit and steadfast work ethic were admired by all who knew him.
Salvador grew up in a large, close-knit family, the 6th of 13. Salvador later migrated to the United States, where he built a new life filled with hope and perseverance.
After settling in, he continued working in a field he loved: cars and auto parts. He worked as a maintenance specialist at AutoZone, where he became well known for his mechanical knowledge, helpful nature, and quiet dedication.
He had a pssion for classic cars, especially the 1970 Mustang, and never passed up a chance to share stores about his favorites.
Salvador also loved caring for his chickens and horses and was the happiest surrounded by the simple rhythms of home.
He enjoyed listening to 1950s music, often letting the songs of that era fill his space and stir memories of the past.
He is survived by his loving wife Vivian; four children (one son and three daughters) Jesusana, Paul, Christine, and Vanessa; eleven grandchildren Philip, Kevin, Joshua, Jeremiah, Samuel, Synfani, Theodore, Alexander, Aspen and Dominic; seven great-grandchildren.
Salvador was a devoted husband and father who deeply loved and supported his family. Being surrounded by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him immense joy, filling his days with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Salvador’s legacy is courage, sacrifice, and unwavering love for his family. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, stories of the sea, and enduring kindness.
