A beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, Ryan "Ryno" Melad passed away at the age of 50 at his home in Fountain Valley, Ca. on Saturday April 3, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease. Ryan is the first generation born in the United States, his parents Jose and Emerlita moved from the Philippines in 1970 to make a better life for their family. Ryan is the 2nd born son of three boys in the Melad family. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.

Ryan was witty, generous, intelligent, caring, genuine, loyal, and humorous. He was passionate in everything he did in life and always found ways to bring people together. Ryan was a true family man and made his family a priority. Although Ryan did not have children of his own, he was Godfather to Jamie Bondoc, Marielle Pineda and Donovan Melad.

Ryan truly enjoyed the performing arts. He found a passion for music, song writing, cinema, television and live musical theater. With such an incredible passion for music and the arts, Ryan had started The Flip'n Whiteys Band, where he wrote the majority of the music and lyrics for the band. Ryan was an avid sports fan. With a true love for the Dodgers and Lakers, being a season ticket holder for the Los Angeles Lakers. Ryan also had a passion for golf. So much so that he established The Breakfast Ball Golf Club, a club that didn't have age or skill criteria, rather just a love for the game of golf. Ryan was also an accomplished poker player. His love for the game lead him to create Coconut Ryan's Poker Club over twenty years ago, in which many people came together to enjoy social poker games and tournaments.

Ryan graduated from Fountain Valley High School in 1989 and was on Varsity Wrestling Team. He attended Cal Poly Pomona to study Civil Engineering. He then worked in the family business, Melad & Associates for the past thirty years where he worked hand in hand with his father Jose Melad.
Ryan was preceded in death by his mother, Emerlita Melad. He is survived by his father Jose Melad, brothers Jerome and James Melad, sister in laws Jennifer and Abby Melad and his loving nephews Donovan and Slater Melad.
