It is with deep sorrow and profound respect that we announce the passing of Ruth Pepito-Kim, a remarkable woman whose life touched so many with her unwavering spirit and boundless joy. Born on March 12, 1979, Ruth’s journey was one marked by immense courage, dedication, and an unyielding commitment to those she loved and served.

Ruth’s professional life was as inspiring as her personal one. She dedicated seven years as a Healthcare Manager at the Defense Health Agency, where her leadership and compassion made a lasting impact. Her passion for healthcare was deeply rooted in her academic pursuits, having earned a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from California State University Long Beach. Ruth was a woman who carved her own path with boldness and grace, investing 100% effort into everything she undertook.

Her service to her country is a testament to her strength and character; she honorably served as an officer in the United States Army for eight years, proudly reaching the rank of Captain. This commitment to serve and protect underscored her profound dedication to others, a trait that radiated through every aspect of her life.

Beyond her career and service, Ruth was known for her great sense of humor and infectious laughter, which brought light and happiness to everyone around her. She possessed a wellspring of positive energy and joy, gifts that made her presence far larger than life. Ruth’s love of the outdoors enriched her soul; she enjoyed hiking and immersed herself in nature's beauty. Her talent in photography and videography allowed her to capture and share the world as she saw it, preserving moments of connection and wonder.

Ruth’s battle with cancer over nine long years was met with incredible bravery and resilience. Despite the challenges she faced, her spirit remained unbroken and inspiring, a true beacon of hope to all who witnessed her journey. She leaves a legacy of strength, love, and determination.

She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Jason Kim, and her cherished children, Hannah Pepito and Nathan Kim. Their lives were immeasurably enriched by her love, guidance, and the joyful spirit she so freely shared.

A visitation to honor Ruth’s memory will be held on April 3, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Forest Lawn - Cypress, Cypress Room, located at 4471 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, CA 90630. The funeral service will follow on April 4, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Forest Lawn - Cypress, Patriots Chapel, at the same address.

Ruth Pepito-Kim’s presence and unrelenting spirit were far larger than she ever was. She was truly an inspiration to those around her—a woman who faced life’s adversities with boldness, laughter, and unwavering love. Though she has left this earthly plane, her light continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy will remain an enduring testament to a life beautifully lived.
