Mrs. Ruth Anne Halverson Noe, 35, was born on April 10, 1977 in McMinnville, Oregon and passed away on June 17, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.
She lived for a while in El Paso, Texas, and moved to Sycamore, Illinois for middle and high school. She is a graduate of Judson University in Elgin, Illinois, where she met her future husband, Michael Noe. She then attended the Los Angeles Film Studies Center, and settled for a time in Los Angeles in hopes of being salt and light in an industry in need of light. After marrying Michael in 2006, the couple lived in LA, Toronto, Vancouver, and back again to LA. She has been an executive assistant in the movie industry, a stage manager, and special effects coordinator. She was trained as an EMT and volunteered as a disaster coordinator for Los Angeles' Community Emergency Response Teams. As a teen, she entered one beauty pageant (which she would be embarrassed that you know) and as an adult, briefly held the title Director of Seamless Execution (which she would want you to know).
Her marriage was a living example of two becoming one; her partnership with Michael remains an encouragement to all who long for an eternal love. Their faith in God was the center of their matrimony, a rock that prevailed against many a storm. The joy they derived from each other's company was tangible; the devotion they shared spilled out to those around them.
Ruth lived life with great faith, humor and joy, qualities that permeated her work and her private life. Reaching out to those around her, she built communities of friends everywhere she went. Her generosity of time and spirit spanned from volunteer work for her church and the Paralympics in Vancouver to giving up family Thanksgivings in order to stay in town and provide dinner and community for those that could not be with loved ones.
She was as renowned for her electric smile and infectious laugh as she was for her trustworthiness and compassion. Ruth may have left us for better shores, but the echoes of her spirit, generosity, and her comforting presence remain.
She has now entered into Glory and her life will be remembered and celebrated by friends around the world, her dedicated husband Michael Noe (Los Angeles), her parents Richard and Judy Halverson (Aurora, IL), along with his parents Michael and Mary Noe (Freedom, PA), her uncle and aunt, Bill and Zandra Gray, her four cousins Kathy (Vincent) Costello, Daniel (Heather) Gray, Steven (Lisa) Gray, Andrew (fiancé Melissa) Gray, and brother-in-law Jared (Christina) Noe, and extended family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Healy Chapel, Aurora, IL. Visitation on Monday June 25 from 10am to 1pm at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Montgomery, IL; funeral to follow at 1pm. Memorials may be directed to the family.
