Ruperto "Pert" Arcebido, 82, of Anaheim Hills, passed away surrounded by his family Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, at Kaiser Anaheim Hospital.
He was the husband of the late Virginia (Esplanada) Arcebido, his lifelong love who passed away earlier this year in January. The couple met in college in the Philippines and came to America together to pursue their medical careers and start a family. Mr. Arcebido was a dentist serving Orange County for more than 40 years.
Born in Balanga, Bataan in the Philippines, on July 7, 1939, he was the son of the late Saturnino and Josefa (Gonzales) Arcebido.
Mr. Arcebido was a "silent type" but when you got to know him, he was the life of the party. Always ready with a joke, quick to grab the mic to sing, especially Elvis tunes, or pull you onto the dance floor. He loved telling stories, could remember every detail and was known for bringing laughter and joy to family and friends. He loved dancing, bowling, and singing karaoke with his wife, playing poker with his notable game face, shooting pool, driving sports cars and especially enjoying time at home, which was his pride and joy. He loved doing home improvement projects and working with his hands: building, painting, and performing landscaping that neighbors found remarkable, scaling the highest trees with ease.
But, above all else, he loved spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, siblings and nieces and nephews. He often visited with his family across California.
He is survived by his son, Russell; his daughter, Ruth; his daughter Rachelle (Arcebido) Parks and her husband, Randall; his grandchildren Elijah, Mikayla, Carson, Garrett Arcebido and Rowyn Parks; his siblings Teresa (Arcebido) Gloria and Charito (Arcebido) Cruz.
He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his siblings Gerardo Escalada, Dolores (Escalada) Baluyot and Leticia (Escalada) Rodriguez.
His loved ones celebrated his life with a Christian service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress, where he is now at rest beside his wife.
