Rudy Sagisi Maluyo

Rudy Sagisi Maluyo passed away peacefully on December 21, 2021, at the age of 76, in his home in La Mirada, California after a very courageous battle with cancer. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and mistah.


Rudy was born to Juan and Prudencia Maluyo on October 21, 1945, in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. When Rudy was 15 years old, his father died while serving in the Philippine military which drove him to follow in his footsteps by serving his country. He joined the Philippine Military Academy and graduated class of 1970. He later served as the Close-in Security Team Leader in the innermost circle of the late President Ferdinand Marcos for 12 years. On June 16, 1974, Rudy married Marilen Fariñas Maluyo and had four sons: Ryan, Robert, Richard and Raymond. In 1985, Rudy along with his family, migrated to Maryland, U.S.A. and they later moved to California in 1990 where he has resided since.


In 1996, Rudy started his business, Caremax RM Corporation/Caremax Pharmacy in La Habra, California. On February 15, 2014 he was awarded the PMA Cavalier Award for Private Business Enterprise for Caremax. After many successful years, the business was relocated to Buena Park, California to support the growth of the company. Recently, Caremax celebrated their 25th year anniversary and is now being managed by his four sons.


Rudy enjoyed playing golf with his sons, spending time with family, and vacationing frequently to Virginia and Philippines. He is survived by his wife Marilen Fariñas Maluyo, his four sons, Ryan, Robert, Richard and Raymond, his daughters-in-law Jenny Rose, Jennifer and Angeline, his grandchildren Tristan, Jedrick, Rhys, Raelynn, Celine and Charlotte, sisters Cathy Maluyo, Ella Wells, and Faye Sarvghadi.


Viewing for Rudy is on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 9am-4pm. The funeral service is scheduled for 2pm on January 22, 2022, at the Patriots Chapel in Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
